How do you measure your success?

Well, have you answered that question yet? If your answer had anything to do with someone else then I will ask that you re-evaluate what success means to you. The last 7 post have highlighted some keys or tools to being successful. Adopt any or all of them for yourself. Create new ones and share them with others.

You can 't look at my success and think that you will automatically be successful at what I do. Your success depends on how much work you put in. Little work reaps little benefit. Put your all in your goals. Don't over work yourself. Relax as often as you think about doing it. Know that ever step forward is a success, and any step backwards causes you to fight.

succesS: Part 7

How do you measure your success?

STRONG

I know that I am strong. I have been through some things in my life that has made me who I am today. In order for anyone to become stronger, they have to go through some stuff. Every trial and tribulation you have ever had was a fight. Fighters are not quitters. Fighters are people who have the will to win. At the end of this year, you will win. You will succeed at all the things that you did not give up on. Now, don't go thinking that you because things didn't turn out the way you wanted them too, that you failed. YOU ARE NOT A FAILURE. YOU ARE A WINNER.

How do you measure your success?

SMART

If you are reading this blog, then you are smart. LOL. Seriously though. Think about it, what does dumb (this was just too funny) mean to you. How many dumb people come up with ideas that take them to the next level. I don't know any.

succEss: Part 5

How do you measure your success?

EFFICACIOUS
Uh, yea. What a word. But, believe it or not, being efficacious can help you be successful in your endeavors. You must be capable of producing your desired effect. You don't want to think unrealistically and then look at yourself at the end of the year and be like, "I failed." Know your limits, don't be afraid to push yourself a little past your threshold neither. I wouldn't want you to sell yourself short.

sucCess: Part 4

How do you measure your success?

CREATIVE

You would be surprised at how many people feel they are not creative. I used to be one of them. I have developed some great skills in the last 3 years and I am still working on honing those skills. But, the funny thing is, those skills were always there. Somehow, I suppressed my creativity. I believed I was not creative enough to make extra money. I believed that I was not creative enough to be truly happy. I even became good at looking at what other people had, and tried to force them to do something with their talent. HaHaHa, today, I am proud to say that I am creative. I have taught myself to create jewelry, realized that I can write, and that I am good at giving others advice. STOP! Ask yourself
  1. Do I like to read? Start a local book club.
  2. Do I want to work with my hands? Check out YouTube for inspiration.
  3. Like to write or share things with people? Start a blog, heck, treat it like a journal that you can share with others.
  4. What did I enjoy doing when I was a teenager? Start doing that again.
  5. Can't think of anything, then it is time to do some soul searching and you need to add that to your 2011 resolution/goal list.

How do you measure your success?

COURAGEOUS

I sometimes don't have enough courage to step out and do what is neccessary to succeed. But, what is most important to know is that YOU need to will courage to yourself, as I sometimes need to do. Without it, I will not get very far and neither will you. Here is that extra push you need to keep going. Your resolution list is not long, nor is it impossible.

UNIQUE

Setting yourself apart from others is a sure way to be successful in your business and in your life. People remember differences and they are sure to recommend you to others when the time presents itself.

Success: Part 1

How do you measure your success? Do you think you have what it takes to be successful this year? You may have given up on that list you created, but don't despair. The more you plug at it, the more you are likely to succeed. Here is the first part to the keys of Success.

SINCERE

Are you honest?
Accomplishing success requires honesty.

Lose Weight in 2011

Everyone knows someone who has weight loss on their resolution list this year. It is by far the top thing people want to do every new year. But, guess what? I'm not talking about body fat.

I am talking about dead weight; useless people in your lives (girl/boyfriend, husband/wife), dead end friends, dead end jobs (no, I am not saying quit your job unless you have other revenue in place), and lack of necessary skills.

In order for us to move forward, you have to be willing to exercise to shed the pounds of uselessness.

Success is not an option folks...it's MANDATORY!

The title speaks for itself. Get your mindset RIGHT, and think SUCCESS. No one wakes up and says I am going to fail today. Well, I take that back, some people do believe that they will fail. My job this month is to get those types of people to change their thought process.

Whatever your resolution/goal is for this year, think SUCCESS. There is no need to think about 'what ifs' at this point; unless you are saying, "what if I succeed?" Your goals are written on paper. You are working on getting what's on that paper into reality. So folks, LET'S GO!!!!!

SUCCESS is not an option.......IT'S MANDATORY!!!

Expect More From Yourself

Some people may think that resolutions are pointless. If you are one of those, then try changing the name to goals; yea, do you remember that word? How about long-term and short-term goals. In actuality, a resolution is very similar to a goal.
Resolution: a decision to do something or to behave in a certain manner
Goal: the state of affairs that a plan intended to achieve and that (when achieved) terminates behavior intended to achieve it
I hope you can see the similarities.

Now that we have that out of the way, I am asking you to expect more from yourself this year. If you have made resolutions/goals before and it didn't work out as planned, then so what. Don't think because you didn't do it before that you can't do it this time; because, YOU CAN! and YOU WILL! That is why I will share this poem that I wrote after embarrassing myself on stage. After that incident, I just wanted to give up. But, something within me wouldn't let me.
Plan greatness in your life this year
and
expect nothing less from yourself

So, whether you made resolutions or goals, we are going to start it right.

Stop Worrying

All of us worry about something at some point of our lives; but there are quite a few of us who worry more than we should and if you are one of those worrywarts, then keep reading. If you are not one of those, then pass this on.

The best definition I found for a worrywart came from Wiktionary: A person who worries excessively, especially about unimportant matters.

Dear Worrywart;

I am writing this letter to you to ask you to ask yourself WHY! Why are you torchering yourself day in and day out with things that you can not control. My message today for you is to FREE YOURSELF FROM THINGS THAT YOU CAN NOT CONTROL. Here are some things that you can do to change your mindset;
  • Take deep breaths until your mind is clear
  • Tell your inner self that there is no need to worry about "ABC"
  • Think about positive thoughts as soon as a negative thought pops into your head
  • BE QUIET - Stop talking about those negative things, you can speak things into existence, you know
Don't you dare read this and say, "well Social Butterfly, you just don't understand!" I don't need to understand what your problems are or what you have been through nor what you are going through right now in order for me to tell you to STOP WORRYING. You are in charge of the vehicle that you are driving. Because there are others of us on the road with you, it is my duty to help you get to your destination safely. Once you relieve those stressors that are hindering you from driving at the speed limit, you will definitely feel confidant about getting to your destination.

SN: I am not promoting you drive above the speed limit but sometimes if you do it a little bit, you get there faster. #imjustsayin. LOL. I kill me sometimes.

Start Right

For the next 30 days, I will be creating a blog post that will help you plant the right seeds for a prosperous year. Many of us have been thinking about our New Year's resolutions, or reflecting on things accomplished or not from last year. We all want to start this year off right, so I have named this series Start Right. January for many of us around the world is cold and dreary. We are shut up in the house, there is not too many colors going on outside, because the trees can't bloom and the fruits can't grow. But, that is alright, because inside our homes and minds it is warm enough to sprout the seeds of creativity, wealth, and health.

So Let's START 2011 RIGHT!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

Ok, so this video was made for the new 2010, but it is very appropriate for the new 2011.

So, HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!!

I am soo excited about this year and I hope that you are too. I didn't go crazy coming up with unrealistic resolutions neither. If you did, I wish you the best. I have decided to share some of mine with you in a moment.

Let's start out this day with learning a lil about the history of New Years Day. Resolution making is a tradition that many of us have in common. I have found a few articles that may put a spin on how you start your year off. Resolution making idea 1, idea 2, and idea 3. One of the most important thing about moving forward in life is looking back and reflecting. I have done quite a bit of reflecting over the last few years and I must say, that today I am a better, happier person. Through self reflection, you find yourself and your purpose. Once that is found, run with it and be merry. Ok, there I go....I am going on a tangent.

Here are a few of my resolutions:
  • Pass all the 5 classes that I registered for this Spring semester so that I may graduate with my Associates degree in May.
  • Write my first book this summer, in addition, keep working on the other two.
  • Drop one more dress size and exercise at least 8 months out of the year.
  • Keep writing my blog and making jewelry.
Because the first half of the year will be spent in school, while working for someone and also myself, being wife and mom.....I am not going to stress too hard about reaching too many goals. I really have to tell myself that I can not do all that I want at this moment. One of the lessons that I learned in November, was that I can not get soo stressed that I want to quit. Quitting is not an option; therefore, I will no longer put so many demands on myself. Yes, taking 5 classes is a lot of demand, but that my friends, is taking me to newer heights that are long over due.
