Hail to the V

That's the new slogan for Summer's Eve. Apparently, they are reinventing themselves with a handful of commercials geared toward women and their vagina. I enjoyed everyone of them and below I have the links for you to take a look at them too. Please do leave your comments.

While watching and listening, I was reminded how powerful I am. Women, often don't know that they are the true essence of all things. Women are strong, smart, and worthy of all things good. The whole idea for the commercials is to remind women that taking care of the vagina is as important as anything else, so use our gentle, made just for the V products for that refreshing feeling.

I will share with you a secret, I never told anyone. I had to be between the ages of 8-10 and I was visiting my cousin and in her bathroom was a Summer's Eve product. My curiosity was peeked as I read the bottle. So, I used it. I will never forget how that felt. I felt fresh and clean and ....WOW! all at the same time. OK, that is our secret, don't tell nobody. ;). Do you remember your first SE experience?

I haven't used SE in years, but I do like the idea of the wipes and I just may try them one day. But for now, I will re-watch these videos and spread them around because although SE is promoting their product, they are also speaking the truth.

While I watched them on YouTube, I noticed that there were a whole lot of dislikes. I can't for the life of me, understand why so many people would dislike them. I do bet that those who disliked them are the same ones that hate women who breastfeed in public. It is just stupid to think less of myself or to feel like I am not special enough to appreciate my V. Well I am and WE are.

***PLEASE NOTE****
My comments are my own and are not endorsed by anyone or product. I have not reviewed the product (SE can send me some though) and I have not been paid for this blog post (I wish).

Well, I was a bit slow getting this post together, apparently SE removed 2 of the other commercials. I wish they would have left them up, but goes to show that consumers have a lot of power. At least my voice can be heard.

I am a POET

I sit with my laptop open and I search for a poem I know I wrote but can't find. I pick poems with familiar names and do searches of key words that I remember and still I can't find it. I have hopes that I will find it, but while I am looking I am reminded of the person that I am when I write. I write words, then sentences, then paragraphs of feelings that felt like me, but are clearly not. I have never experienced such pain nor sorrow, yet, I right it as if I were there, I am there. I am that person at that point in time. I am that genius that was able to put words together that made sense, that made a rhyme. As I read, I place doubt in my mind that I am not worthy enough to put these thoughts in a book. But, my soul says different. My soul sees my name in print. I side with my soul. God has a purpose for me and I will use the gifts that he and mother earth bestowed upon me.

School, ALREADY?

It is still July and I am already thinking and talking about school. This fall, my whole house will be embarking on a new schedule and new lifestyle. My household consist of 6 persons, all of which will be full-time students. My husband and I were accepted to NCA&T; he is pursuing a Technical/Electrical degree and I, Cultural Change and Social Development (like what else were you expecting?). Our son will be entering into the 11th grade, while our girls are going to the 8th, 3rd, and 1st grades. We are all excited.

Unbeknownst to them, we are going to drastically change our spending habits and I wondered today, why now and not before. We are not spending mad dollars on school supplies that get put into a draw or shelf somewhere and forgotten because the kids didn't really need it anyway. We are cutting cell phone bills (Walmart has a good plan), getting rid of the cable (I was suppose to do this a long time ago but fear got me holding), and the food- I will learn how to effectively use coupons and revisit the co-op to see how we can use them for fresh veggies and stuff. Back to the 'why now' question. I procrastinated and we still have bills that we can't afford, so now is better than never.

So, yes, school is approaching quickly and if I don't start thinking about it now, it will creep up on me and I don't like to be panicked nor stressed.

Have you started to think about 'School 2011-2012'?
